Motorola Photon 4G has been successfully unlocked. Photon’s unlocking might open doors to unlocked Droid 3 and Bionic, which will are yet to be released. Be Warned! The procedure mentioned to Unlock Motorolla Photon 4G Bootloader is for users with advance knowledge of flashing and Fastboot.
How To Unlock Motorola Photon 4G Bootloader
Download and Install RSD Lite and drivers from Downloads section.
Download and Extract Unlocked SBF.
Start your phone in fastboot mode.
- Turn off your phone
- Press Volume Down + Power keys
- Press Volume Up key when you sopt fastboot
Run RSD Lite in your Computer.
Click on “…” button to select File.
Provide SBF file from the extracted folder.
Connect your Phone with computer.
Your device should be recognized by RSD Lite.
Click “Start” to flash your Phone.
Your phone will restart when flashing completes.
Extract FastBoot package in your computer (given in downloads sections).
Open command prompt and navigate to android-sdk\tools\moto-fastboot< \em> directory.
Launch moto-fastboot oem unlock.
Note down the Unique ID for your phone which will be shown on command prompt screen after you launched moto-fastboot oem unlock. The line containing id looks like.
INFOof your device: ###########
Type following command, replacing ************ with your Unique ID.
moto-fastboot oem unlock ###########
You have successful unlocked your Bootloader. You will see “unlock” on your phone’s screen when your reboot.
Note. Maker sure your phone is charged 100% before continuing to Root.
Extract System.img file in fastboot folder.
Download and Install Superuser app from Market.
Restart your phone and enter in fastboot mode.
Plug your phone with computer.
Open command prompt, navigate to folder containing System.img file.
Type following command to get root access.
moto-fastboot flash system system.img
